NFL free agent running back Montee Ball was
arrested Saturday night in Whitewater, Wis. “on a felony bail jumping
violation,” according to the Madison ABC affiliate.
WKOW reports that police suspected Ball was drinking alcohol in a bar, which his bond conditions don’t allow:Police were called to 841 Brewhouse where Ball was said to be at the tavern drinking alcohol and had felony bond conditions in Dane County not to consume alcohol or be in a bar/tavern.Those bond conditions stem from Ball’s arrest in early February, when he was charged with battery for, according to police, throwing his girlfriend into a table.
Ball was located at an address on W. Main Street where he denied drinking, however, had an odor of intoxicants on his breath. Ball refused a breathalyzer as well as any blood draw. A search warrant was served for his blood, which was then drawn.
Ball was a standout at Wisconsin, where he set numerous NCAA records. He spent two years with the Broncos, before ending last season on the Patriots’ practice squad. The Patriots released Ball a few days after his arrest.
